I couldn't resist these pretty little flowers at the farmers market yesterday. They are the perfect thing to keep me perked up and ready for the race on Sunday. Yes, the triathlon is this Sunday and strangely I'm not too freaked out...yet.

It's no secret that Dirty Dancing is hands down my favorite movie of all time. It's impossible to know exactly how many times in my lifetime I have seen this film, but I can tell you, growing up my sister and I sent a few good VHS tapes to their grave due to excessive watching. So I was sitting at work the other day when my mind started to wonder (sorry boss man, but your work bores me). I got to thinking about this favorite film of mine. I found myself curious as to when exactly it had been released. A quick Google search revealed that the date was August 21, 1987. I couldn't believe it, not only was the anniversary of DD just a few days prior, it also happened to be the day we celebrated my good friend Morgan's bachelorette. Now it would have been a lot cooler had I realized this fact before the party, but I think we did a pretty good job of celebrating with Morgan while also unknowingly paying homage to Dirty Dancing...
"Oh, them. They're the dance people. They're here to keep the, uh, guests happy"...

Ingredients
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 cups of whole greek yogurt, divided 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 Tbs turmeric
1 Tbs curry powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/4 red onion, finely diced
2 Tbs minced cilantro
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 pieces of naan
1. Marinate the Chicken Breasts:
Combine 1 cup of yogurt, turmeric, curry powder, cayenne pepper, and salt in a small bowl.
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and slather on the yogurt marinade. Marinate for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and make the raita.
2. Make the Raita:
Combine 1 cup of yogurt, red onion, cilantro, lemon juice, paprika, and salt. Adjust seasoning to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
3. Cook the Chicken:
Wrap the chicken breasts in foil and bake for 25 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes (in foil) before serving.
4. Warm the Naan and Prepare Garnish:
Wrap the naan in foil and warm in the oven for 5 minutes.
Prepare any additional garnish like sliced red onion and diced tomatoes.
5. Plate and Serve:
Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the raita onto the warm naan. Top with the warm chicken breast and its juices. Add an additional spoonful of raita and garnish.

A Gatsby Affair
I find myself overwhelmingly jealous of those who will be in New York on August 28th-29th.
While I am recovering (with the aid of lots of cold beer) from my first attempt at the Chicago Triathlon, those luckiest of New Yorkers will be at the Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party. Leisurely sipping their summer cocktails under a shady grove of centuries-old trees.
I wish I too could be there in a pretty summer dress and adorably era appropriate hat.
